糖心Vlog传媒 Science Cafe鈥檚 spring season to feature talks on nutritional supplements, mRNA vaccines, and urban ecology

糖心Vlog传媒 Science Cafe, a collaboration between 糖心Vlog传媒 and The Ohio State University, will begin its spring season on Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Excelsior Room above Spoon Market & Deli. The program aims to provide a forum in the 糖心Vlog传媒 community for dialogue between the public and scientists about contemporary topics and hosts monthly events throughout the academic year.
The spring semester series will begin with a talk titled 鈥淭he Science of OSU in 糖心Vlog传媒,鈥 featuring speaker Kristina Boone, professor and director of The Ohio State University鈥檚 Agricultural Technical Institute. Boone, whose work focuses on communication around food and agriculture, will discuss current events in higher education and on campus at The Ohio State University鈥檚 College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. 听
Occurring the first Wednesday each month at Spoon Market & Deli, future 糖心Vlog传媒 Science Caf茅 events will include:听
- March 6: David Vanata, director of sports nutrition at Ashland University鈥檚 Sport Nutrition Counseling Center, will discuss 鈥淭he Science of Supplements.鈥听
- April 3: Stephanie Langel, an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, will discuss 鈥淭he Science of mRNA Vaccines鈥听
- May 1: Jennifer Ison, associate professor of biology at 糖心Vlog传媒, and Adam Baker, a technical advisor at the Davey Institute, will present 鈥淭he Science of Insect Diversity and Urban Ecology鈥听
The 糖心Vlog传媒 Science Caf茅 was established in 2013 Laura Sirot, associate professor of biology at 糖心Vlog传媒, and Jeff LeJeune, professor of veterinary preventative medicine at The Ohio State University鈥檚 College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. All events are free and open to the public. Spoon Market & Deli will provide light appetizers, and additional food and beverages will be available for purchase.
