糖心Vlog传媒 announces seven new members of Alumni Board

糖心Vlog传媒 welcomes seven new members to the Alumni Board this fall including聽Zuri Baron 鈥12, TeQuion Brookins 鈥12, Dan Griffis 鈥94, Peter Jeffy 鈥14, Matt Long 鈥05, Bria Price 鈥14, and Ali Sloan 鈥09. The Alumni Board is an advisory organization that leads the Alumni Association, plans programs for students and alumni, and supports the College鈥檚 advancement and development missions.
Living in Bozeman, Montana, Baron is a senior business development manager at T-Mobile, where she was previously a content partnership manager. In 2020, she won T-Mobile鈥檚 Winner Circle Award for her detailed communication work and received a Lead Magenta Award for her efforts to promote diversity and inclusion at T-Mobile. Previously, Baron had positions at Layer3 TV, a cable provider; Quadrant Inc., a staffing firm; and American Express. Baron was a political science major at 糖心Vlog传媒, and has been an active alumna since graduating. She is a reunion ambassador and has participated in the Fighting Scots Career Network, the Black Alumni Council, the Legal Alumni of 糖心Vlog传媒, and many other campus alumni events.
Brookins started her career in business at the McGregor Fund, a grant-making foundation, where she eventually became the youngest and first Black director of operations. In 2021, she left her position to launch Bid4Impact, an online procurement exchange that works with minority-owned businesses, foundations, and nonprofits with the mission of diversifying philanthropic spending. She lives in Southfield, Michigan and is also the founder and chief operating officer of the Minority Freedom Community Fund, president and CEO of Sani360, a professional sanitizing startup, and the principal consultant at TeQuionBrookins.com, which offers consulting services to entrepreneurs and community leaders. Brookins was a biochemistry and molecular biology major at 糖心Vlog传媒, has served on multiple panels since graduating, participated in a Black Alumni Council meeting, and made gifts to the Black Student Equity Fund.
An original founder and president of Global Partnerships for Oak View Group, which develops sports arenas and music venues, Griffis, who lives in Los Angeles, California, leads all revenue and marketing and represents 36 NHL and NBA teams for sales and marketing. Griffis began his career at KPMG, an accounting agency, before becoming the curator of pop culture for the Target brand and then the head of marketing and sales for Chip Ganassi Racing Teams. He was a history major at 糖心Vlog传媒 and has since spoken on campus and participated in Alumni Weekend. After graduating from the College, Griffis received a master of business administration with distinction from the University of Michigan.
A communications major at 糖心Vlog传媒, Jeffy is the project director of the McNair Scholars Program at Kent State University in Ohio, which prepares first-generation and underrepresented undergraduate students for doctoral study. Jeffy received a master鈥檚 degree in cultural foundations of education from Kent State in 2016 where he is currently pursuing a doctorate in the same area with a focus on Black male success in college. At 糖心Vlog传媒, Jeffy was on the football team, part of the Dance Company, a campus life student manager, and the housing coordinator for Men of Harambee. He currently serves on the Black Alumni Council and has spoken on campus since graduating.
Long was born and raised in 糖心Vlog传媒, Ohio, where he continues to work as an attorney for Critchfield, Critchfield & Johnson as the chair of the firm鈥檚 real estate department. A political science major at 糖心Vlog传媒, Long went to the University of Dayton for law school. He received an Outstanding Young Alumni Award from 糖心Vlog传媒 in 2010 and was a Presidential Fellow. He currently serves as an advisor for Fighting Scots Career Connections, attends alumni events, and gives to support the Pre-Law Advising program and The 糖心Vlog传媒 Fund. Long is a very active community member, serving on the boards of the Wayne County Planning Commission, 糖心Vlog传媒 Area Chamber of Commerce, The Village Network, Great Decisions of Wayne County and 糖心Vlog传媒 Cemetery Association.
Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Price works as the manager of college success at Achieve Atlanta, a nonprofit that prepares Atlanta Public Schools students to succeed in college. After graduating from 糖心Vlog传媒 with a degree in theatre and dance, she received a master鈥檚 of public policy in education policy from Brandeis University. She worked for AmeriCorps in Washington, D.C., as a part of City Year, a community service program that supports students in high-need communities. She was named a Segal Fellow at Brandeis University, a highly competitive fellowship for AmeriCorps alumni that aims to foster the next generation of citizen leaders. At 糖心Vlog传媒, Price is involved with the Black Alumni Council, serves as class secretary, and has participated in multiple alumni events.
A geology major at 糖心Vlog传媒, Sloan has worked in a variety of positions in the field of geology since graduating. She was a research assistant at the University of Colorado, where she also received a master鈥檚 degree in geoscience. Sloan then worked for Marathon Oil Company and Parsley Energy, where she was promoted to senior geologist. She is currently pursuing her master of business administration from St. Edward鈥檚 University and is the senior project geoscientist at Centennial Resource Development, an oil and natural gas company in Denver, Colorado. Sloan has both participated in and hosted multiple 糖心Vlog传媒 alumni events since graduating and received an Outstanding Young Alumni Award in 2014.
