@ Dr. Sobeck, thank you so much! It definitely cemented my love for climate writing, which is an unexpected takeaway. I also had more confidence to declare a major in Environmental Humanities and continue journalism pursuits.

Hi Carly, thank you so much for your encouragement through this whole process! I genuinely loved writing about topics that are impactful for young people. Hopefully, I can continue educating people through writing! I never considered a job educating teenagers, but it’s something I now hope to pursue.

Great to hear about your fellowship, Julie. 3-4 articles per week is impressive! It would make an academic blush. I love the fact that you were able to integrate things like climate change and sustainability into a mainstream cultural outlet.

It’s great to hear how you were able to combine your interests and other things you’re passionate about and that you had the space to pitch topics you were interested in. Making more complex topics (the moon wobble, weight lifting, and climate change) more accessible to young girls is something important in terms of educating young people! Long-term, do you think you’ll continue into work like this?
