What a wonderful presentation! We witnessed first hand the full impact of how your internship experience influenced you! What a positive impact it had, inspiring you to be proactive in so many ways. Up at the wee hours of the morning, spending all day working tirelessly at the farm, just to go back and help prepare and cook meals for others. Not only working on the farm, but establishing life long relationships with some wonderful people! Honestly, I have never seen anyone so excited about eating squash. Be very proud of all that you accomplished.

Upon reflection, I see that my 2020 Fellowship was most crucial in developing my sustainable farming skills and understanding the actual techniques of what it means to grow food. This past summer, I really put all of those skills to use and approached food injustice through a hands-on, intentional community model where we engaged in direct interactions with the city of Lorain. Serving meals, giving away produce, and having weekly neighborhood cookouts transformed the impact of regenerative agriculture in this setting. Thank you for your question – I hope all is well with you!

It seems like both you and the Lorain community gained so much from this experience. I’m wondering how this experience differed from your previous sustainable farm internship, were the takeaways similar or totally different?
