糖心Vlog传媒 introduces new 2021 Alumni Board members

糖心Vlog传媒 is pleased to announce four new members of the Alumni Board: Betsy O鈥橞rien Anderson 鈥94, Meskerem 鈥淢esky鈥 Brhane 鈥89, Margaux Day 鈥06, and Bernice L. Walker 鈥86. The Alumni Board serves as an advisory group of the Alumni Association in which members participate in meetings and a variety of activities to support students, alumni, and the mission of the College. The four alumnae began their three-year term on July 1, and information about the full board is available here.

Anderson has spent the past eight years as director of development for historic Ford鈥檚 Theatre in Washington, D.C., where she oversees all fundraising efforts. Previously, she worked as vice president of development at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and as a major gifts officer at the National Gallery of Art. A communications major at 糖心Vlog传媒, Anderson鈥檚 career started when she was introduced to fundraising at the Martha鈥檚 Vineyard Hospital Foundation right after graduation. She lives in Maryland and has served on 糖心Vlog传媒鈥檚 Reunion Committee and as Reunion Class President.

Brhane is practice manager for the Urban, Resilience and Land Global Practice in Africa at the World Bank based in Washington, D.C. She heads a multi-billion-dollar operational portfolio and leads policy engagements, technical assistance, and analytics for 12 East and South African countries. Her areas of focus include urban service delivery, infrastructure improvement, housing, informal settlement upgrading and community driven development. A double major in English and French at 糖心Vlog传媒, Brhane also speaks Arabic, Hebrew, and Amharic. She went on to earn her doctorate in political science from the University of Chicago.

Day has spent her career working on legal matters regarding state, corporate, and individual accountability all over the globe. An international relations major at 糖心Vlog传媒, Day graduated with a law degree from Case Western University School of Law in 2009. She works with Accountability Counsel as policy director, leading their advocacy to ensure that international financial intuition protect the human and environmental rights in affected communities. Prior to that, Day clerked for fellow 糖心Vlog传媒 Trustee, Soloman Oliver Jr. 鈥69, judge for the Northern District of Ohio. She previously served on the Alumni Board from 2010-2013. Day also began serving as an Alumni Trustee on the College Board of Trustees this July.

A supplier diversity manager for Duke Energy Corporation since 2013, Walker leads the engagement efforts in the Midwest while promoting the inclusion of diverse suppliers throughout the enterprise. Prior to joining Duke Energy, she was the director of the Hamilton County (Ohio) Office of Small Business Development. Walker majored in business economics at 糖心Vlog传媒 and earned her law degree from Northern Kentucky University Chase College of Law, where she later taught as an adjunct professor. A resident of Cincinnati, she previously served on the Alumni Board from 2007-2010 and is reunion class president. Walker also began serving as an Alumni Trustee on the College Board of Trustees this July.
