Great question! Overall, from my research, the medium has a huge impact on student’s success, and therefore my research provides strategies to negate that impact. Moreover, I have found that students do not retain information if they are not engaged. Therefore, my research provides strategies on keeping children engaged online so they can continue retaining the information at the same rate as traditional in-person classrooms.

There are arguments for both sides here – a deeply engaged student is more sensitive to the gaps in the online vs classroom experience, or so focused on learning new content that differences in medium become less relevant.
