I really enjoyed your presentation. With the transition to a more remote experience involving lots of literature review, did you find some of the skills you learned in Junior I.S. helpful during the fellowship?

Dr. Sobeck,
Thank you for the well wishes! This experience definitely helped me grow as a writer and communicator. Working with medical students within the lab group also helped build my confidence in my own ability to clearly express my thoughts.

It looks like you were able to learn quite a bit. It seems like the switch to remote really helped foster some important skills (beyond labwork) needed as a researcher, despite the challenges it put your way. Best wishes in your medical school application process!

Dr. Guarnera,
It is amazing how complex the body is and how in different conditions differing compounds can induce alternate cellular responses. I really enjoyed learning more about the regulation mechanisms the body and cells have to prevent cancer. I also appreciated learning about the experiences of some of the other medical students, whom I worked with!
