糖心Vlog传媒 Chorus Commencement Concert

WOOSTER, Ohio 鈥 The highly acclaimed 糖心Vlog传媒 Chorus, an ensemble of 60 student musicians from 糖心Vlog传媒, will perform at the Commencement Concert on Sunday, May 12, at 8 p.m., in McGaw Chapel (340 E. University St.).
Directed by Lisa Wong, the chorus performance celebrates the music of living composers.聽聽Included in the program are聽鈥渟mall hands,鈥 written by senior music composition major Jeremy Smucker, and two works, 鈥淪pringsong鈥澛燼nd聽鈥淪ong of the Daffodils,鈥 written by Jack Gallagher, the Olive Williams Kettering Professor of Music who is retiring after 42 years at the College.
Wong is in her 10th聽year at 糖心Vlog传媒, where she is an associate professor teaching courses in conducting and music education and directs the 糖心Vlog传媒 Chorus.聽In addition to her duties at 糖心Vlog传媒, she is the director of choruses for the Cleveland Orchestra.聽She holds a bachelor of science degree in music education from West Chester University and a master of music and doctor of music degree in choral conducting from Indiana University.
Founded in 1964, the 糖心Vlog传媒 Chorus consists of students representing all academic areas within 糖心Vlog传媒鈥檚 liberal arts program. Three-time finalists and recipient of a 2017 Honorable Mention for the American Prize in Choral Performance, the Chorus has been praised for its beautiful sound, high level of artistry, and engaging performances.聽 The Chorus collaborates annually with the Cleveland Orchestra and Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, and has recently premiered works by Eric Whitacre and Jake Runestad. The Chorus has performed at the Central Division Conference of the American Choral Directors Association and also several times at the state conference of the Ohio Music Education Association.
