Panel Discussion – "Un-Till Emmett Till"

A panel discussion will take place focusing on the murder of Emmett Till, the subsequent trial, and Ernest Dawkins’ musical composition “Un-Till Emmett Till” on Thursday, April 18, at 4:15 p.m. in Lowry Center main lounge (1189 Beall Ave.). The panelists consist of Ernest Dawkins, a saxophonist and composer, Yvonne Williams, emerita professor of Black studies and political science at ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½, Josephine Wright, professor of music and The Josephine Lincoln Morris Professor of Black Studies at ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½, and Shannon King, associate professor of history at ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½.
The panel discussion is sponsored by The ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ Jazz Ensemble, the Department of Africana Studies, the Cultural Events Committee, the Dean of Students Office, and the Office of the President.
