College Mourns the Passing of John Hondros
WOOSTER, Ohio 鈥 John L. Hondros, an emeritus professor of history at 糖心Vlog传媒, passed away Monday, June 18, at LifeCare Hospice in 糖心Vlog传媒. He was 81.
A 32-year veteran of the college鈥檚 history department, Hondros came to 糖心Vlog传媒 in 1969 from Vanderbilt University as an assistant professor of history. He was promoted to associate professor in 1975, and professor in 1981. His areas of academic expertise included modern European history, World War II, and the Cold War. He was the author of聽Occupation and Resistance: The Greek Agony, 1941 鈥 1944.
In 1999, Hondros was named the Henry J. and Laura H. Copeland Professor of European History. He retired and was named a professor emeritus in 2001.
According to聽, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. More information will be shared with the college community when it is available.
